Ian Simpkins, owner of Garden Elevations, holds a B.S. in Horticulture from North Carolina State University, and his experience in horticulture spans more than 20 years. He’s also Deputy Director for Horticulture and Urban Agriculture at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. A national leader in the public horticulture field, his oversight of the National Historic Landmark’s European styled garden – one of the best in the United States – ensures that he has the expertise and knowledge to make your garden the best it can be. In addition, he’s the Chair of the Historic Landscapes section of the American Public Gardens Association, served on the boards of several horticultural organizations in Miami and Philadelphia, and has been the recipient of prestigious fellowships for garden study in the United Kingdom and Italy.

Juan Luis Amate Santos is Horticulture Manager at Garden Elevations and has been with Garden Elevations almost since its inception. Juan makes sure that our daily horticulture operations run smoothly and are responsive to our clients’ needs. A lifelong passionate gardener, his expert touch ensures each and every garden is cared for as if it were his very own. His exceptionally detailed approach assures that each and every plant, container, and landscape we maintain is thoughtfully and expertly detailed at each visit.
